In Memory of Lucy O’Mera Dunn 1945-2022
Beloved daughter of the late Edith R. and Richard C. Dunn of Wilmington, Delaware, Lucy was born in Madison, TN.
A graduate of Brandywine High School in Wilmington, DE she attended Martin College in Pulaski, TN, St. Francis Nursing School in Nashville, TN, and received her RN from Wesley College in Dover, DE.
Lucy was an RN (registered nurse) working at Memorial Hospital of Wilmington, DE (which became Wilmington Medical Center and later Christiana Care) for 30 years.
She lived in Wilmington, DE for over 50 years and was a member of Concord Presbyterian Church. She was a resident at Maris Grove, a retirement community in Glen Mills, PA since 2008 until the time of her passing on December 29th, 2022. She was well liked by her friends.
Lucy is survived by her younger sister Barbara Collins of SC, niece Bonnie Collins of NY, nephew Richard Collins (and wife Loreen) of IL, and her grand-nephews Ben and Ryan Collins. Lucy was a beloved sister, aunt, and great-aunt to her family and she will be forever missed.
Services are being held on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at 11:00 am. at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike (Rt. 202 South of Silverside Road), Wilmington, DE 19803 where friends may call from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Private burial.
