Calvin Wilson Hickman, Sr. age 94, of Vero Beach, FL (formerly of Wilmington, DE) passed away on April 22, 2023. Calvin was a past member of Christ Methodist Church in Elsmere, DE where he also served on the Board, and was a member of the Pocahontas Anona Council #1, Georgetown, DE. He retired from the Gulf Oil Company in 1990.
Calvin was preceded in death by his wife Ellen (Laird) Hickman. He is survived by his sons Calvin Hickman, Jr. (Kay) of Vero Beach, FL and Barry Hickman (Ginny) of Murrells Inlet, SC; grandchildren, Kirstie de la Jara (Fermin) of Lake Ridge, VA, Jenice Young (Kevin) of Hoschton, GA, Shaun Hickman (Kirsten) of Amherst, NH, Justin Hickman (Michelle) of Amherst, NH and Jennifer Hickman; and great-grandchildren, Evan Young, Elias de la Jara, Brayden Hickman, Weston Hickman, Lanai Hickman, Cydney Young, Fletcher Hickman, Beckett Hickman, Ryland Hickman, Cierra Dolby, Mykaela Dolby and great-great-granddaughters Sage Dolby and Jorja Dolby.
A visitation will be held on Monday May 1, from 10-11 am at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19808, where a service will follow at 11am. Private burial will be in Silverbrook Cemetery, Wilmington, DE.
