Shirley C. Roberts, 88 years old, passed peacefully from this earth on her birthday May 8th, with family by her side. Shirley was born May 8, 1935, to the late Paul C. and Elsie M. (Smith) Clark of Richardson Park.
Shirley’s favorite things to tell people was that she was the baby of six children, she was born in the same bedroom she slept in all of her life, and she was names after Shirley Temple. Shirley graduated from Conrad High School in 1953. She was a member of UFCW Local 152, and she retired from ACME Markets in 2000 as a weigher and wrapper.
Our mother loved her family and the Lord along with being a member of the Richardson Park Methodist Church. She enjoyed going to all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events. She also enjoyed traveling to Tucson, AZ to see and enjoy her family.
Shirley was preceded in death by her beloved husband Bill Roberts, Sr. of 47 years, her siblings Inez, Garland, Juanita, Betty, and Bill, and most recently her beloved son in law John “Jack” Trincia.
She is survived by her children, William Roberts Jr. (Nancy), Paula Farhat (Ted), and Lori Trincia. She will also be dearly missed by her grandchildren Stan, Tanya, Jason (Jen), Michael, Tanous, Demetria, and her great grandchildren Lauren, Lindsay, Kellen, Matthew, Bella, Brielle, Liam, and Mackenzie, her grand dog Rusty, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Our thanks to Jackie and Diane at “Joyce’s Expression of Love” for the loving care they gave Shirley until the end. Thank you to all the staff at Vitas Hospice that continued with that loving care of Shirley.
Services and visitation will be held at Richardson Park Methodist Church, 11 N. Maryland Ave, Wilmington, DE 19804 on Saturday May 20, 2023, with viewing 9-10:30, Services following 10:30-11:30. Burial to follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park 2220 N. DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE 19720. Memorial contributions can be given in Shirley’s name to Richardson Park Methodist Church.
