Mary passed away on July 25, 2023 at the age of 93 after a brief illness. Mary was the daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Brinton) Winant of Elmhurst, Wilmington. Born in 1929, Mary attended Richardson Park Elementary School and Conrad High School, graduating in 1947. After graduation she was employed by the duPont Company in Wilmington, where she worked in the Purchasing Department until the birth of her first child. Mary was a member of the Richardson Park Methodist Church since 1942, where she volunteered in many positions over the years.
Mary met her future husband, Richard Hall, at Richardson Park United Methodist Church. They were married in 1948. Mary was proud of her three sons and never passed up the opportunity to brag about them to others.
Mary is survived by her three sons, C. Curtis Hall (Onie) of New Castle, DE; Theodore E. Hall (Patricia), of Smyrna, DE; and John W. Hall (Jacalyn) of Pequea, PA. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Mary is predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Richard Hall, her siblings, Elizabeth Mae Winant, Wesley H. Winant, and Theodore S. Winant, and a grandson Bradley C. Hall.
Visitation will be held at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware 19808 on Monday, July 31, from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m., with service immediately following. Private interment will be in the Silverbrook Cemetery. To send condolences visit: www.mccreryandharra.com
