Valerie Lynn Holdsworth of Wilmington, Delaware passed peacefully in our Lords welcoming arms on September 1, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was born on February 23, 1962 to Gloria(Kunkle) and Norman Bogia, at Wilmington General Hospital.
Valerie was an amazing soul who lived her life for others. She graduated from Delcastle Technical High School in 1980, from Electrical Trades. She continued her electrical career with her father Norman and her brother Victor. She then started a career in the food industry where she managed Seasons Pizza and Party Pizza most of her life. The last 20 years she was a lunch lady for Red Clay Consolidated Nutrition. She loved working with the children, and treated them all as her own, everyone called her mom.
Valerie loved to garden with her husband and grow her own vegetables, and loved family time. She enjoyed doing activities with her children and grandchildren. She was always the boy scout and girl scout leader, and always volunteered with school activities. She enjoyed seeing her family happy, and loved every minute she had with them.
A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Valerie is survived by her husband Gary J. Snyder of Wilmington, Delaware; her children, Jennifer (Ruben) Kiesha, Felicia (Guy, Jr), Arthur (Christiana), Shane, and Jeffrey; her grandchildren, Marcial IV, Hope, Noah, Justin, Amyah, Abigail, Travis, Laliana, Guy III, Hunter, Austin, Logan, Jordan, Gloria, and Evie. She is also survived by her brothers, Victor, Norman (Janice), and Brian (DeShirl) Bogia; her uncle, Allison (Pat) Bogia and her aunts, Patricia (Deb) Smith and Marj Vandenbush.
Valerie is preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Gloria Bogia, her siblings, Doreen Riley and B. Kevin Bogia and her beloved grandchildren, Brianna Truax and Joseph (JC) Holdsworth.
The Family would like to extend a special thanks to Accent Care Hospice and her team at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center.
Services will be held at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808, Friday September 8, 2023. The visitation will be held from 2-3 pm and the service will be from 3-4 pm. Burial will be held privately.
