Virginia S. “Ginny” Zechman, age 97, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on her 97th birthday. She was born in New Orleans, LA and being the daughter of a railroad worker was raised in New York, New Jersey and Philadelphia, PA. Ginny graduated from high school in Plainfield, NJ in 1945. She was the daughter of the late Rowland and Georgianna Snyder.
Ginny was an office manager for Charles Veith, an orthodontist for over 20 years in the city of Wilmington. She later worked at the Fairville Inn as a receptionist.
Ginny loved spending time at the beach, and being with family and friends. She also loved working in the garden, there was never a weed that lasted long in her yard. She loved music especially Judy Garland.
Ginny is survived by her two sons, Jeffery P. and his wife Joan Zechman and David C. Zechman, Sr.; five grandchildren, Evan, Moira, Kyle, Aubrey and Sydney and three great-grandchildren, Lucien, Harper and Noelle. She is also preceded in death by her grandson, David, Jr. and her 5 siblings.
Services and burial will be held privately.
