Mavis V. Posey, of Wilmington DE went to her eternal home with Jesus on April 10, 2024.
Mavis is the widow of Richard J. Posey, who was a Kennett Square Police Officer killed in the line of duty in 1972. She is survived by her children, Deborah Maichle (Jack Taggart) of St Simons Island, GA; Diane Donohue (late David) of Ocean View, DE; Rick Posey (Kim) of Atlanta, GA; Brian Posey (Audra) of Bear, DE, 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild (soon to be 2). She is also survived by one brother, Earl Price of Laurel, DE.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Earsel Price, brother Gary Price (Rose), and 3 sisters.
Mavis is an alumnus of Kennett High School. She retired in 2000 from Pepperidge Farms after many years of service.
Mavis enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Her other love was a winning game of Bingo. She loved her church family from Marshallton United Methodist Church where she was a volunteer in the WeCare Group and Women’s Circle.
A celebration of life will be on April 27 at 10AM at Marshallton United Methodist Church, 1105 Stanton Rd, Wilmington DE 19808, with visitation 9-10AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mavis’ name may be made to Marshallton United Methodist Church.
