Gregory “Greg” Edward Orzell, age 80, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Brookhaven, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024 at Riddle Village.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Chester, PA. Greg is the son of the late Therese (Schuck) and Edward Orzell. He graduated from Chester High School in 1962. Greg proudly served his country in the US Navy during the Vietnam War from 1962-1966.
Greg worked for Boeing as a Composite Fabricator and retired after 44 years with the company.
He enjoyed playing poker, watching movies, reading, fixing things around the house, and particularly playing golf. But the time he cherished the most was time with his family, especially playing with his grandchildren.
Greg is survived by his wife of 52 years, Joanne (Quintin) Orzell; two daughters, Donna Brown (Andrew) of Chadds Ford, PA and Kimberly Sullivan (Ryan) of Lewes, DE; two grandchildren, Sarah and Luke Brown; sister, Barbara Renda of Roswell, GA and sister-in-law, Marie Garren of Mountain Top, PA; and many nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his infant son, Jason Thomas Orzell, and brother, Vincent Orzell.
A gathering for family and friends will be held at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pk., Wilmington, DE on Sunday, April 28th from 1-3pm. Burial will be held privately.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
