Barbara J. Boyd, of Wilmington, Delaware passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024. Born April 4, 1947, Barbara was a graduate of Brandywine High School and spent her life working in medical billing until she retired in 2017. She enjoyed spending time with her immediate and extended family at the beach in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey and watching the Philadelphia Eagles every Sunday. She was an avid reader and loved listening to folk music, particularly Gordon Lightfoot.
Barbara is survived by her daughter, Jennifer McKelvey (Jack); granddaughters, Jaclynn and Jenna; brother, George Jones (Wanda) of North Carolina; stepdaughter, Royce Boyd of Bedford, PA; and extended family, Kim Pepe, Nick Pepe, Derek Pepe, Chris and Christopher Lacey. She was predeceased by ex-husband and friend, Edward R. Boyd.
A celebration of life will be held Thursday, June 6th from 4-7 at Delaware Veterans Post #1, 2535 Veterans Drive, Wilmington, DE 19810. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brandywine Valley SPCA: https://bvspca.org/donate/honor-a-life
