Laura H. Drill (54), of Bear DE, passed away on May 2, 2024 with her daughter by her side.
Laura was born in Wilmington, DE and raised in Fairfax where she worked at her father’s store, Fairfax Hardware, after school all through Junior and High school. Laura was a licensed cosmetologist and also worked in the finance industry.
Laura loved spending her time with her granddaughter Giuliana DeVito, taking her to the pool, having shadow puppet parties, coloring, listening to Giuliana’s “fun facts”, and going for walks. She enjoyed spending time at Lewes Beach, DE and boating in Maryland. Laura loved sharing stories and remembering the good times she had with her husband of 24 years, Anthony, who passed away January 6, 2017.
Laura is survived by her daughter Hailey Drill (David DeVito); granddaughter, Giuliana “Pookie” DeVito; her sister, Deb Lauser (Dave) along with many loved cousins, sisters and brothers-in-law.
Wholehearted thanks are sent to her beloved cousins Michelle Whittaker (Murray), and Kristin Moore (Jeff), for bringing lightness and laughter when it was most needed.
The family would like to express their sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all of the staff at Accent Care and Christiana Hospital, with a special thank you to Charlie and Brittany.
Laura’s funeral will be private, with a celebration of life at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute (ChristianaCare) in Laura’s honor.
