Mary E. Gills, at 98 years young, was called home to be with the Lord on May 16, 2024. Mary was born March 31, 1926, in Wilmington, Delaware to the late Leslie E. and Mary E. Jamison. She was the eldest of three children; her two sisters, Dorothy Smith and Beatrice Takash, predeceased her. Mary married her late husband, Garland H. Gills in 1949. Mary enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, and cooking.
Mary was predeceased by her youngest son, Dale E. Gills (Gina); grandsons, Dale E. Gills and David H. Gills; and great-granddaughter, Emily F. Gills. She is survived by her sons, Garland L. Gills (Joanne) and Dalton C. Gills (Barbara); grandchildren, Barbara (Brian), Kristin (Dennis), Garland, Dalton (Heather), Angela, Joseph (Moises), Michael (Jillian), Stephanie (Katherine) and Seth (Racheal); twenty-one great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Services will be privately held with family only in attendance.
