John Robert “Bob” Almond passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024. Surrounded by his family, he was received into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
Bob was born in Trenton, New Jersey on December 22, 1945 to Marie Oldert and John F. Almond. On June 27, 1970 he married the love of his life, Constance Wells Almond. They walked through life together for 54 years of marriage.
Bob worked as a corporate planner for ICI/Astra Zeneca/Avecia until his retirement in 1999. He faithfully served as an elder at his church and even taught Sunday School days before he passed. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Bob is survived by his wife, Connie, as well as his children: Christie (Darrell) Negley and Brad (Katie) Almond, and his 5 grandchildren: Charis Negley, Paige Negley, Tristan Negley, Elliott Almond, and Lucy Almond. He is also survived by his brother, Bill (Vivian) Almond.
A funeral will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 308 Possum Park Rd., Newark, Delaware, with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will be private.
