Linda M Ganat, born September 16, 1948 and passed on May 23, 2024 at the age of 76.
Linda was born in Chester, Pennsylvania to Stanley and Edith (Deacon) Buraczynski. After graduating from Chester High School, she began working as a middle school secretary and met George Ganat. They married on July 12, 1969 and moved to Wilmington, Delaware. Linda was a homemaker while her children were in school, later working as a lingerie fitter and salesperson at a local department store.
Linda will always be remembered for her love of her family, her fondness of Mickey Mouse, and her broad taste in music. She loved to read and was a font of historical information; she also enjoyed solving crossword puzzles and watching detective and mystery programs. Linda was artistic and enjoyed making decorations for the holidays as well as costumes for her children, grandchildren, and pets. Her love of Disney frequently took her to Florida for trips with her grandchildren, and she also enjoyed going on cruises with her husband, sister and brother-in-law.
Linda is survived by her husband George, her two children George Jr. (Jason St. Germain) and Meghan Toland (Andrew), her three grandchildren Alex, Nicole and Danielle Kelly, and her sister Nancy Smith.
Services are to be held on Wednesday May 29, 2024 at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home in Wilmington, Delaware, at 10am. Burial to follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary Cemetery in Linwood, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Linda’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.
