William H. Rainey, age 93 of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on May 26, 2024 with family by his side.
William was born in Saltcoats, Scotland. He began his early career as a shipbuilder in Scotland. William immigrated to America in 1953 and found employment as a cabinet maker in Ridley Park PA. Once William established a job and residence, his wife and son immigrated shortly thereafter. William and family moved to Delaware in the mid 50’s. Throughout his career, he continued to master his cabinet making skills working at Atlantic Aviation and then establishing part ownership of Darco Cabinets, Inc. and later opened Darco Cabinets of Delaware, Inc. He enjoyed using his craftsmanship skills to remodel numerous kitchens, bathrooms and commercial facilities throughout the tri-state area.
William is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Jean Rainey; his children Robert Rainey (Kathy), Linda Hryckewycz (Paul), Donna Dietz (Ron) and Debbie Wright (Mike); 9 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. William is also survived by his brother James Rainey and Nieces and Nephew of Saltcoats Scotland.
As per Williams wishes there will be no services.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or Calvary Presbyterian Church, Maryland Ave.
