Wanda M. Emery of Lewes, DE formerly of Wilmington passed away on June 1, 2024.
She was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and is the daughter of the late, Ann M. (Toner) and Frank S. Emery. Wanda was also preceded in death by her brother Daniel F. Emery.Wanda graduated from Dickinson High School and later received an associates degree from the University of Delaware.
Wanda worked for DuPont for her entire career and truly enjoyed her network of friends from Glasgow, Chestnut Run and the Experimental Station.She also worked at Macy’s in the Jewelry Department for a number of years and enjoyed working with customers to find the perfect piece for an outfit or occasion.
Wanda loved all animals, especially cats, and had many throughout her life (Sidney, Sam, Rex, Pink and Bella).She trapped, rescued and helped many felines get adopted.Gardening was another hobby and at each home, Wanda had the most beautiful flowers on the street.She was an exceptional roller skater, competing in school figures but she most enjoyed just skating at Merryland Roller Rink sessions.Wanda loved the water and enjoyed her time walking along the beach.
She is survived by her sister, Lisa A. Emery and her husband Steve Sourifman and her beloved cat, Bella.
