Dorothy “Doris” Karlinski Bigelow, 98, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2024.
She was born in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of Stanley and Elizabeth Karlinski. Doris graduated from Mount Mercy High School and D’Youville University. Devoted to her family, Doris lived a long and fulfilling life, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness and memories. Their Avalon home was cherished by the family as a generational gathering place to laugh, share stories, play cards and enjoy the company of family.
Doris is preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, Charles R. Bigelow. She is survived by five children: Robert C. (Pola), JoAnn B. Walder (Alex), Barbara A. Flosdorf (Herb), Susan E. Young (Bob), and Richard M. (Kathleen); six grandchildren, Dan, Paul, Peter, Mark, Sam and Abby; 8 great-grandchildren and extended family. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Joanne Karlinski and Eleanor Shreenan; and a brother, Richard V. Karlinski.
