Joan Emily Daniels, age 89, of Glen Mills, PA passed away peacefully on Friday evening June 7, 2024 at her residence in Wilmington, DE. She was the beloved wife of 55 years to the late William James Daniels, the mother of 8 children, 16 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
Joan helped her husband run the businesses they owned together, WB Daniels & Sons, and the Wilton Corp, while raising their rather large family, and working in Real Estate.
She was born in Chester, PA on 11/3/34, met William at a HS Mixer dance in 1951, graduated from Ridley HS in 1952, and became a mother for the first time in 1953.
Joan, never without an opinion nor a huge heart, dearly loved the beach, books, Christmas, and animals of all sorts. Her wit and sense of humor were so strong that her eldest grandson, now 49, still believes she is eternally 19 years old.
She is survived by her children, Kathie DiFilippo, Stephen Daniels, Victoria Conley, Cynthia Walther, and Lenny Daniels. She is preceded in death by her husband, William; sons, James and Mark Daniels; daughter, Patricia Moore; and her grandchildren, Shawn Conley and Samantha Walther.
A celebration of her amazingly full life will be held at a later date for family and friends.
