S. Louise Schilling, age 87, of Wilmington, DE passed peacefully away on Friday, June 21, 2024.
She was born in Marshall, N.C. and is the daughter of the late Bervia (Riddle) and Walter A. Henderson. As a youngster her parents moved to Wilmington, Delaware with her three sisters, Jo Feldman, Patty Powell and Joyce Lamplugh. Louise graduated from Conrad High School in 1954.
She worked for 30 years in the accounting department of the International Reading Foundation, now the International Literacy Foundation.
Louise was a member of Marshallton United Methodist Church. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, going to the beach, visiting the zoo and up for any adventure that came her way.
Bringing her the most joy was being a mother to her only daughter, Susan Casula (Robert J. Nester) which she adopted and loved her daughter more than any parent could love.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, June 26, from 11 am to 12 noon at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Homes, 3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE. A Time for Remembrances will follow at 12 noon. Burial will be held privately.
