Wilson, Dixie Piper Keller

Dixie Piper Keller Wilson, age 83, of Wilmington, DE went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus on Monday, June 17, 2024.

She was born in Kingston, PA and raised in Sweet Valley, PA. Dixie is the daughter of the late Gladys (Snyder) and Edmund Piper. She graduated from Lehman High School in 1958, Lehman, PA.

Shortly after graduation, Dixie met the love of her life, Ronald Keller, at a cigar factory where they both worked in Pennsylvania. They married in 1959, moved to Delaware and started a family. In 1971, while working at a construction company, Ronald was killed in an industrial accident, leaving Dixie with 4 children. Shortly thereafter, the family moved to Chester County. Then again in 1979 moved to Lehman, PA.

After her children became teenagers, Dixie started as a nurse’s aide at Brandywine Nursing Home. After moving to Lehman, she worked as an activity director for over 10 years.

She was a member of Cedar’s Church of Christ, Daughters of the American Revolution and in her children’s PTA. Dixie enjoyed gardening and accompanying her children on various school field trips.

Her first husband of 12 years Ronald S. Keller died in 1971. Dixie is survived by her children, Tammy Huffman (Jonathan Stein) of Oxford, PA, Ronald Keller (Cindy) of Elkton, MD, Melanie Lovisa (Michael) of Rockledge, FL and Jeffrey Keller of Wilmington, DE; 3 siblings, Bonnie Emerson (Daniel), Sherry Sawinski (Jerry) and Edmund Piper, 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren.

Services and burial will be held privately.
