Carroll, Jayne

Jayne Maureen Carroll, age 68, of Glen Mills, PA, formerly of Glenolden, PA died on Monday, June 24, 2024 at her home in Glen Mills, PA. Jayne attended St. Gabriel’s Catholic School in Norwood, PA and graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill, PA (Class of 1974). She later continued her education, earning an Associate Degree in Science from Widener University.

Jayne began her career as a Medical Records Clerk at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital in Darby, PA, where she worked for 15 years before moving to the Department of Radiology with Bryn Mawr Hospital/Main Line Health where she was an X-Ray Tech/Staff Radiographer for 33 years. Jayne was a member of PSRT (Pennsylvania Society of Radiologic Technologists), ASRT (American Society of Radiologic Technologists), and was a recipient of the South Jersey X-Ray Award in Recognition of an Outstanding Technical Paper.

A devout Catholic, Jayne had a deep-seated faith in God and the collection of Saints she had in her corner. She often attended daily Mass virtually, broadcast from a Parish in Donegal, Ireland. She enjoyed travel, traditional Irish and Irish country music, Irish family history, her family - especially looking after her Mom and Dad in their twilight years - gardening, Phillies baseball, the Winter and Summer Olympics, bowling, softball and was an avid collector.

Jayne was predeceased by her father, Francis J. Carroll; her mother, Theresa B. (Maher) Carroll; her brother, Kevin P. Carroll; and her niece, Baby Theresa Carroll. She is survived by her brothers, Francis J. Carroll (Constance) of Whispering Pines, NC, Sean T. Carroll (Kristin) of Ardmore, PA, and Timothy G. Carroll (Tricia) of Upper Chichester, PA; her sisters, Bernadette J. Carroll of Tucson, AZ, and Maureen T. Carroll of Birdsboro, PA; her nieces and nephews, Moira Carroll of Ardmore, PA, Erin Carroll of Mar Vista, CA, Megan Carroll of Upper Chichester, PA, Timothy F. Carroll (Sarah) of Gap, PA, and Kevin J. Carroll (Lyndsay) of Bala Cynwyd, PA; and great-niece, Savannah Carroll - Gap, PA; and great-nephew, Finley Carroll of Bala Cynwyd, PA.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday July 3, 2024 at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church (430 Valleybrook Road, Glen Mills, PA 19342). The viewing will be at the church beginning at 9:00 AM. Private Interment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Yeadon, PA in the fall.
