Reonato A.Rivera, age 83, of Newark Delaware, passed away peacefully at home on June 27th, 2024 surrounded by his family.
Born in Arayat, Pampanga, Philippines on July 8,1940, son of Simeon and Fidela Rivera.
He was a graduate of chemical engineering from National University in the Philippines. He was a member of the Philippine Institute of Chemicals Engineers.
Before Reonato immigrated to the United States in1969, he worked for International Chemical Corporation, then worked and retired from Allied Chemical then Honeywell in Syracuse, New York and General Chemical Corporation in Claymont, DE and consulting work for Siegfried, USA in New Jersey.
In addition to his professional life, Reonato had a passion for cars and loved to travel.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Maria Lourdes, his children and their spouses Roland and Deana, Joseph and Mina, and Geraldine and Jason, his siblings Helen, Cecilia, Alicia, Precy and Josefa and his grandchildren Ashley & husband Nick, Rachel, Jillian, Valentina, Giuliana, and Gabriella. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished every moment spent with his family.
Reonato will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and sense of humor, His positive spirit and contagious smile brightened the lives of everyone he met, leaving behind a legacy of love and care for one another. He was a pillar of strength and support for everyone, always ready to lend a helping hand or offer his very wise advice.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Dr. Evan Lapinsky and his staff at Medical Oncology Hematology Consultants, PA and Delaware Hospice for their compassionate care and support during his final days.
