Donald John Hancock, age 80, Rowlett, TX and formerly of Wilmington, DE (South Graylyn Crest) and Springfield, PA passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024 at Methodist Hospital in Richardson, TX.
He was born in Philadelphia, PA and raised in Springfield, PA. Donald is the son of the late Dorothy Jean (Smith) and Frank Hancock. He graduated from Springfield High School in 1962 and the former Spring Garden Institute, in building construction technology. Donald retired from Matlack Systems as a warranty administrator.
He enjoyed spending time at Red Point, Northeast, MD boating and fishing.
His first wife Sheila (Mushlit) Hancock died in 1993 and his second wife, Deborah (Dietch) Hancock died in 2014. Donald is survived by his son, Jason Hancock (Cynthia) of Wylie, TX; 3 grandchildren, James, Kenny and Sheila Hancock of Wylie, TX and step-daughter, Elysia Ackerman of Plano, TX.
A graveside inurnment will be held at the Chester Bethel Cemetery, 2619 Foulk Rd. Wilmington, DE, on Monday, July 29, 2024, at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Donalds name to ASPCA | American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, www.aspca.org
