Lori Lee Stewart, age 60, of Wilmington, DE passed away on July 26, 2024 at the Christiana Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones.
Lori attended Thomas McKean High School, graduating in 1982. She then attended the Harris Career Institute where she earned her medical assistant certification. Lori worked in the OBGYN medical field until 2004 when she began her career with the Christiana Network RAD Facility in invitro fertilization where she was employed until her death. Lori helped countless families achieve their dreams through IVF.
Lori loved animals; she had many beloved pets throughout her life. She enjoyed spoiling her three fur babies: Chloe (cat) and Luke and Lacey (dogs). Lori enjoyed relaxing at the pool and the beach, cheering on her favorite football team the Philadelphia Eagles (Go Birds!), and spending time with friends and family.
Lori was preceded in death by her beloved parents Barbara “Bobbie” and Carl Waibel.
She is survived by her husband Joseph P. Stewart Sr., son Joseph P. Stewart, Jr. and his wife Clair Stewart, son Tyler J. Stewart, brother James Waibel, nieces Tara Stewart McKenzie and Cheyenne Waibel, nephews Kevin Stewart and Cody Waibel, and chosen family Barbara Kraft.
A viewing will be held on Sunday, August 4 from 12 noon – 2 pm at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808. An additional viewing opportunity will be offered the following day, Monday, August 5, from 10 – 11 am with a funeral service at 11. Interment will follow the service at Gracelawn Memorial Park.
