“We celebrate life and death, for the two cannot exist without the other. Knowing how to live is also preparing for how to die, just like the sounds of words are followed by silence before the words return again only to fall once more into silence. My Father understood this duality as much as anyone. He was the Great communicator, a Guide and a Healer, who was at his best when he could engage with family, friends and patients with his words. But he also loved silence and the power of not needing words. When for a short time he was separated from my Mother after she passed before him, he fell into silence but even then remained the Guide and Healer without needing to speak. Now that he is back with my Mother, he can engage again with childlike enthusiasm in the sounds of words. May we all enjoy the resonance of their words and take to our hearts the hidden meanings of their silence. May God Bless Him and Have Mercy on Him.” Tariq
