Robert D. Siley, 85, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Cleveland, OH, died peacefully at home on August 7, 2024.
Bob was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Lincoln High School, he attended Baldwin Wallace University in Berea, OH. In 1971, he and his family moved to Wilmington, DE where he worked at the BP Refinery until his retirement in 1996. After retirement, he found his dream job working at the DuPont Country Club on the golf course and in the pro shop for the next 27 years.
Family was his first love, but golf was his passion, whether he was playing or watching. During his years playing, he was able to reach the ultimate goal of a hole-in-one. He attended the Masters Tournament twice, and he played Arnold Palmer’s Bay Hill Golf Course, meeting his idol, Arnold Palmer twice.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Herron Siley; son, Robert Siley (Cathy); daughter, Colleen Giggey (Brennan); grandchildren, Samantha Giggey (Juan), Andrew Giggey, Thomas Giggey (Ashlynn), Max Giggey (Jordan), and Matthew Siley; and two great-grandchildren, Emmett and Brennan Trujillo.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church (10 Old Church Rd, Wilmington, DE 19807) at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 14. Friends may call beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
