Richard “Rick” Jackson, 76, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on August 13, 2024.
After graduating from A.I. DuPont High School in 1965, Rick joined the U.S. Coast Guard and served his country during the Vietnam era. In 1968, he married his sweetheart, Ruth Palmatary. He had a long career with Wilmington Trust and retired after 42 years. Rick was a devoted husband, father, brother, and grampy. He was a classic car enthusiast, avid fisherman, and die-hard Eagles fan.
Rick is survived by his wife Ruth Jackson, sons Jack and Wade (Jaime) Jackson, granddaughters Brooke and Sarah Jackson, and brother Robert Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his loving parents Miriam and Richard Jackson.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, from 6-8 pm. A funeral service will be held the following day, August 20 at 11 am with visitation from 10 -11 am. Interment in Silverbrook Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations be made to the American Brittany Rescue in honor of their love for Brittany dog breed.
