Dolly A. Collinson, age 72, Bear, DE and formerly of Barrie, Ontario, Canada passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2024.
She was born and raised in Barrie, Ontario, Canada and is the daughter of the late Dolly (Shewchuck) and Roy Jones. Dolly graduated from Barrie Collegiate High in 1968.
She met the love of her life, John H. Collinson, on a blind date on St. Valentine’s Day 1970 at the Royal Canadian School of Infantry. Then for 20 years Dolly was a military wife. They raised their family throughout Canada wherever the military sent John. After the children had grown, she took care of cherished four-legged children. Dolly and John moved to the United States in February of 2000.
Along with her husband of 53 years, John, she is survived by her three children, John Joseph Collinson, Jessica Collinson and Jamie Collinson; a grandson, Hugo Burritt and her sister Mary Carter.
Services and burial will be held privately in Calgary, Aberta, Canada.
