Charles D. Smith, 93, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully at home on September 6, 2024. Charles was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Lena Smith, his sister Virginia Smith and his daughter, Diane Parcells.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lois Smith; son Charles R. Smith; grandson Alan Parcells, granddaughter Ruth Parcells and 2 great grandchildren.
Charles served his country during the Korean War in the U.S Navy aboard the USS Antietam and was also attended Naval Music School.
Charles retired as a printer from the News Journal. He and his wife Lois traveled in their motor home across the United States and visited many national parks.
Charles loved nature, music and his family, he will be dearly missed.
A committal service will be held on Wednesday, September 25 at 11am at the Delaware Veterans Chapel, 2465 Chesapeake City Rd. Bear, DE 19701. . In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Vitas Hospice, 100 Commerce Dr. #302 Newark, DE 19713.
