Gwendolyn “Gwen” Ann Elliott, age 89, of Claymont, DE., passed away peacefully on September 20, 2024, surrounded by family.
Gwen was born to Rowena and George Rash in 1935 in Wilmington, DE. She graduated from Wilmington High School, was a Color Guard rifle spinner in the Blue Rock Drum and Bugle Corps, and a precision roller dancer. She worked as a preschool teacher, a retail credit manager, an Avon sales rep, and owned an HVAC company with her husband, which they operated until retirement. She enjoyed her pets, boating, gardening, traveling, playing cards, and going to the beach.
Gwen was preceded in death by her husband Clarence “Ed” Elliott, her brother William Eaton, and step-children Carol Elliott and Edward Elliott. She is survived by her children James McDaniel (Julie) and Troy McDaniel (Darrin Moore), grandsons James McDaniel (Crystal), Joshua McDaniel, Jesse McDaniel, Jeffrey Elliott (Marie Dellinger), and great-grandchildren, Rebecca and Troy.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 from 10:30-11:00 a.m. at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home, 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803 where a memorial service will follow at 11:00 am.
