Ann A. Sansone, 88, of Newark, Delaware, formerly of Milford, Massachusetts died on October 10th, 2024 in Wilmington. She graduated from high school in Massachusetts around 1953 and worked as a seamstress, a sales woman, and a bread slicer for a bakery. She eventually settled into a career as a secretary, but would sometimes cater events for friends and family on the side. She ultimately retired from the Massachusetts Department of Child Services where she’d worked as a secretary.
Ann was an avid reader and houseplant enthusiast. She loved cooking and baking, enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching, and was always doing crossword puzzles and word searches. Every day she watched gameshows, the news and her crime shows. She loved babies all her life.
Ann is survived by her children, Stephen Sr. (Kesha) of Newark, DE, Jim (Lita) of Milford, MA, and Donna of Newark, DE; her sister, Mary Boyd of Milford, MA; brother, Jerry Catanzariti of Cape Cod, MA; grandchildren, Ross of Newark, DE, Justin and Amara of Newark, DE, Stephen Jr. of Waukesha, WI, Christopher Sabourn and David Sansone of Whitinsville, MA, and James Michael and Christopher Sansone of Milford, MA; 14 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Services for Ann will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 19th at the McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Hwy, Wilmington, DE 19803). Friends may call beginning at 1:00 PM. Interment at All Saints Cemetery will be private.
