Thomas P. McGowan, age 84, of Wilmington, Delaware, passed away on October 24, 2024 peacefully at home.
Tom also known as “Quiet Man” grew up in South West Philly. He attended Dobbins Tech High School, he was also a member of the Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church.
Tom and Rosemary (Rice) McGowan were married in 1980, they spent time traveling and trying new places to eat. Tom was an avid Eagles fan and enjoy the Philadelphia Philles and on his free time, he enjoying play a round of golf.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas McGowan; mother, Margaret Mary Feeley; sister, Patricia Peters and grandson, Devin Ryan Schonewolf. Tom is survived by his wife of 44 years Rosemary; daughter Christine Boss (Roger); son, Mark McGowan (Pandora) and step son Robert W. Schonewolf, Sr. (Stacy); a brother, Vince McGowan (Joanne); grandchildren, Justine, Maggie, Iole, Danae and Bobby Jr.; great grandchildren, Savanah and Brady and a brother in law, Don Peters.
A viewing for Tom will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2024 at the McCrery & Harra, 3924 Concord Pike Wilmington DE 19803 from 9-10:30 am. A mass of Christian burial will follow at Immaculate Heart of Mary, 4107 Weldin Rd., Wilmington at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
