Bob Funger passed away on October 30,2024 at age 69 after a prolonged and courageous fight against cancer.
He leaves behind his sister, Barbara Gilliam, and his nieces Chelsea Mitchell, Elysa Marden, Sarah Curtis and their families. He is also mourned by his companion, Angela Gallagher, who was by his side for the last seven years and thankful for that time they were able to share together. Bob’s easy going demeanor and sense of humor will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
Bob grew up in Wilmington and chose to live there for the majority of his life. He did spend a couple of years traveling around the States, including Alaska, and had tales to tell. Bob was mechanically minded and after his return to Delaware specialized in home appliance repair as well as the installation of smoke alarms in private homes and businesses. He was retired at the time of his death.
Bob was a devoted son and will be laid to rest next to his parents, Helen and Robert Funger, at Gracelawn Memorial Park. The memorial service and burial will be private.
