Dunbar, Wendy Reed

With her degree, she contributed significantly to managing Dunbar’s Cyclery, a beloved Wilmington institution founded by her father, Paul Dunbar, in a small city storefront.

Wendy later married and was blessed with two children whom she cherished deeply. After her marriage ended, she devoted her time and energy to supporting her children’s passions and interests.

Wendy had a deep love for education and was committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. She became a reading assistant tutor, working with elementary school children and helping them develop a love for learning.

Wendy is survived by her children, Krystal McAllister and Dylan (Jessica) McAllister; her stepchildren, Dorothy (Alex) Clarke and Danielle McAllister; her grandchildren, Anna Stecko, Cecilia Clarke, Warren Clarke, and Sherry-mae Hardy; and her brother, Paul “Skip” Dunbar (Linda).
