Margaret H. Riggins, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2024, in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Born in 1927 in New York, Margaret’s early years saw her living in the enchanting land of Greece in both Athens and the island of Tinos before her family settled in Philadelphia, where she grew up and flourished.
Margaret was preceded in death by her loving husband, William Riggins; her cherished sister, Parris Halkias; and her dear brothers, Peter, Dimos, and Nick Halkias. Her life was a testament to her unwavering devotion to her family and her deep faith.
A devoted mother, Margaret is survived by her four sons: William, James, Gregory, and George. Her legacy continues through her six grandsons and one great-granddaughter, who will always remember her warmth, kindness, and boundless love.
Margaret’s life was centered around her family and her church, where she found strength, community, and purpose. Some of her fondest memories included her volunteer work with the Greek Orthodox Ladies Philoptochos Society. Her nurturing spirit and generous heart touched many lives, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Margaret will be dearly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. Her love, faith, and dedication are her lasting legacy.
In celebration of Margaret’s life, family and friends may call from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024 at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 808 N.
