It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Michael Head, age 55, of Newark, Delaware. He passed away peacefully on November 25, 2024, with his family by his side.
Mike worked as a painter for many years. In his younger years, Mike enjoyed and excelled in sports, especially baseball and soccer. He had a love for music, nature, hunting, fishing, swimming and surfing in the ocean. Mike sincerely loved his nieces and nephews, and was always interested in their accomplishments.
Mike is survived by his mother, Rosemarie Masten and her husband Ken, his sisters, Dianne Howell and her husband Gary, Linda Barry, Nicole Keane and her husband Dave, his brother, Kevin Head; nieces and nephews, Morgan, Justin, Rachel, Kelsey, Leah, David, Daniel, Ian; his father’s spouse, Susan Head; his stepbrothers, Steve and Greg Stacknick. He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Head, and dear friend, Bonnie Foraker.
Visitation will be held on Monday, December 2, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, 3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808, with a service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. A graveside service will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808.
Mike struggled for many years with addiction. In his memory, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice to benefit the homeless or those affected by addiction.
