Janie I. Jamison, December 16, 1937 – November 26, 2024
Janie Inell Jamison (Simmons), lovingly known as “Nell” or “Momma J,” was born on December 16, 1937, in Charleston, South Carolina. She went home to glory peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on November 26, 2024 at the age of 86.
Janie was a devout Christian, loving mother, devoted wife (pre-deceased by James J. Jamison), and friend to many. She was a retired educator from the New York City Board of Education. She enjoyed fishing, dancing, baking, giving to others and doing missionary work.
She is survived by six of her seven children (four sons and two daughters), many grands, great grands and two sisters.
A beautiful soul is never forgotten.
