Lee Roy “Butch” Hart, Jr., age 81 of Newark, DE passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Christiana Hospital.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and is the son of the late Ann (Thornton) and Lee Roy Hart, Sr.
“Butch” as he liked to be called, was preceded in death by his wife Brenda (Whitt) Hart of 39 years who died in 2016. He was also preceded in death by his son, George A. Eachus and 2 grandsons, Tyler and Daniel Eachus. Butch is survived by sons, Lee Hart of Bear and Robert Eachus and his wife Lisa of Wilmington; a brother, Adam Jablonski of Newark and his wife Linda, seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
He retired from New Castle Vo Tech School District after 25 years of service. Butch also worked for Siemans Heath Care in Glasgow for seven years and fully retired in 2021.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Butch was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan; going to many games in his younger years. He loved working and helping people in all walks of life. Butch would help neighbors work on their cars, work on neighborhood children’s bicycles and would paint the homes of the less fortunate. He had many jobs throughout his life starting as shoe-shine boy, then a paperboy, working in leather shops, working in a t-shirt factory making decals and he even had his own lawn service.
Family was important to him. Butch enjoyed his time off from work going to the beach with his wife and grandchildren, they also had a beach house in Gulls Way for many years. He and his wife traveled to many places; Walt Disney World many times, the Bahamas, Cancun just to name a few.
Butch was a genuine hard-working man with pure ethics.
