Elizabeth “Liz” S. Becker, age 85 of Claymont, DE passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025.
She was born in Chester, PA; her family moved to Claymont when she was a young girl and she remained a lifelong Claymont resident. Liz is the daughter of the late Catherine and William Spillan. She graduated from Ursuline Academy in 1957.
Raising a family of 3 boys was her life’s work. Liz was a lifelong member and active volunteer member of Holy Rosary Church. She was an avid enthusiast of long walks at Bellevue State Park.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Robert A. Becker; her two sons, Robert C. Becker (Mary) and Brian Becker; two grandchildren, Ryan and Cassidy Becker; siblings, William Spillan (Loraine) and Denise S. Gallo (Jody). Liz is also preceded in death by her son William F. Becker and siblings James Spillan and Catherine Wood.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude and appreciation to the nurses and staff at Accent Care Hospice.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, from 10- 11am at Holy Rosary Church, 3200 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery
