Robert Bruce Parker of Glen Mills, PA formerly of Wilmington, DE and New York passed away on January 8, 2025. Bruce graduated from Syracuse University and worked for the DuPont Co. in the plastics department as an accountant, then transferred to data systems section of plastics. He was then assigned to Sabine River Works in Orange, Texas, where he was named accounting and development supervisor. Ater returning to Wilmington, DE he was appointed to Senior Supervisor in the General Accounting Section. He was then transferred to development department as manager of the real estate divisions housing section. Before he retired he was a Senior Systems Specialist.
He was an active member and a Eucharistic Minister at Church of the Holy Child . He was a soccer coach, loved to travel, play tennis, enjoyed reading, walking, sport events and enjoyed music. He was preceded by his son Robert Sterling Parker. He is survived by his wife Barbara Parker; his two daughters, Debra Shaw (Randy), of Messa AZ, Lynne Thompson (Ron) of Wilmington, DE, and his grandchildren, Andrew and Justin Shaw, Anthony Parker, Ricky Parker, and Alyssa (Michael) Cortez.
A visitation will be held on January 17 from 10 -11 am. with a Mass to follow at 11am. at Maris Grove Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way, Glen Mills, PA 19342. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maris Grove Resident Care Fund or the Ministry of Caring, Wilmington, DE.
