Kathleen Louise “Kathy” Naccarato, age 76, of Wilmington, DE passed away on January 14, 2025. Kathy was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late Gertrude Marie (Schafer) and Regis Joseph Walsh. Kathy was the 4th of 5 siblings. She attended Carlow College and graduated in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology. Kathy worked as a social worker for the state of Pennsylvania until 1972 when she married William Naccarato. They moved to Michigan and various other cities where she would continue to work in education until they found a permanent home in Wilmington, DE. Throughout these years, they began raising their family of 4 children.
Kathy had a remarkable talent for budgeting and financial planning, a skill she demonstrated in her everyday life. Her precision and efficiency in grocery shopping were unmatched, often combining sales and coupons to astonishing effects even leaving the store with a quarter in hand due to her by the establishment. Kathy’s dedication to careful planning ensured her family thrived within their means, a reflection of her unwavering commitment to providing for those she loved.
Kathy’s true passion and calling in life was being a wife, mother, and grandmother- loving all unconditionally. She found joy in raising her family, making sure they had a lovely home, good food, and a bountiful garden in the backyard. She always asked, even in her final years, “Did you eat?”, and she never stopped smiling and saying, “I love you”. Kathy was always the last one you would see as you left their home; waving goodbye at the door until she was sure you were safely on your way.
