Gladden, Rodney

Rodney Gladden, age 43, of Wilmington, DE, formerly of Baltimore, MD, passed on January 19, 2025, returning home to God after a long and hard fight with cancer. He graduated from Colonel Richardson High School in 2001 and went on to work in Human Resources for Magnitude Express, an Amazon delivery company, and as a bartender at the Market Street Café in Charlestown MD.

Rodney was a talented musician who loved writing his own music and rapping. He also loved sports, particularly basketball, football, and baseball and was a die-hard fan of the Washington Redskins/Commanders and the University of Michigan.

Rodney was predeceased by his grandmother, Gloria Miller of Baltimore, MD; aunt, Goldie Jackson of Eastern Shore, MD; father, Rodney Gladden of Baltimore, MD; and sister, Nikkita Gladden of Baltimore, MD.

He is survived by his wife, Brittany Gladden-Stapleford of Wilmington, DE; son, Brayden Pruitt-Gladden; mother, Laurel Ashe of Baltimore, MD; siblings, Tangie Gladden, Barellie Thompson, Antreea Gladden, Aerianna Nelson, Felicia Reeves, Denise Gladden, and Roderick Gladden, all from Baltimore, MD, as well as Tymira Patterson from North Carolina; cousin, Dianna Monroe of Baltimore, MD; a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; and his close friends, Eltoria Thompson, James Thompson, and William Ellis.

A Celebration of Life for Rodney will be held from 12 PM – 4 PM, on February, 2, 2025 at the Market Street Café (315 Market Street, Charlestown, MD 21914). Rodney loved his sports, so please come dressed in your sports gear! Any sport, any team!! Contributions can be made to Brayden’s College Fund. Please make checks out to Brayden Pruitt-Gladden and give them to Brittany Gladden-Stapleford for deposit into his account.
