Dorothy B. McCourry (nee Bohack), age 87, of Elsmere, DE passed away on February 11, 2025 at home.
She was born in Wilmington, DE to the late Paul and Helen Bohack. Dorothy graduated from St. Hedwigs Grade School and St. Paul’s Commercial High School.
She had lived in North Carolina and worked as a payroll supervisor at Thurston Motor Lines. Upon returning to Delaware, she worked as a clerk for Richards, Layton & Finger Law Firm, retiring in 2009.
Dorothy was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. She had been a member of St. Francis Hospital Junior Board where she served as a past Treasurer and Gift Shop Volunteer.
She was preceded in death by her husband Pat McCourry, her son, Pat McCourry, Jr., her sister, Elizabeth Kubec, and her brother, Joseph Bohack. Dorothy is survived by her son, Willam C. Brown, Jr., (Charlene), her daughter Paula Day (Hank) grandchildren, Tanya Monteras (Jose), Kristi Nussle (Mathew), Stephanie Brooks (Arnell) and Jason Brown, her great-grandchildren, Catherine, Destiny, Aaliyah, Domanic, Sabrinia, Everett, her brother-in-law Joseph Kubec and many nieces and nephews especially Jessica McNally.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, February 18, 2025 from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 809 S. Broom Street, Wilmington, DE 19805 where a Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery.
