Richard L. Garber, 66, a lifelong resident of the Wilmington area died unexpectedly on February 12, 2025.
Rick was the only child of the late Walter and Frances Garber and was a member of the Brandywine High School Bicentennial Class of 1976. Rick spent his entire career in the Retail industry and had worked for the former John Wanamaker Department Store on Augustine Cut-Off, Pomeroy’s, and for the last 10 years, Boscov’s. At the time of his death, he was a Department Manager with oversight of 5 departments in the store. Springtime was his favorite season and he enjoyed gardening. Rick was a gentle guy with a great sense of humor. Although he was a private person, he was always willing to lend a hand when and where he could.
Rick and his fiancée, Patricia J. Burke were due to be married soon. Other than Pat, there are no immediate survivors.
He will be buried with his parents in the Springtime.
