Moore, Constance J.

Constance J. Moore, 68, passed away on Saturday, February 15, 2025, due to health complications. A gifted pianist and educator, Constance dedicated her life to sharing her passion for chamber music and inspiring the next generation of musicians.

Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, Constance cultivated a love of the piano at an early age. She studied in her formative years with pianist and composer David Brown at the Wilmington Music School before earning her Master’s Degree in Piano Performance from Louisville College, where she studied under the renowned pianist Lee Luvisi.

Constance’s career was marked by a profound dedication to musical education. For 30 years, she served as the head of the Chamber Music Program at The Juilliard School of Music’s Pre-College Division in New York City. Her devotion to teaching extended to her positions as a piano instructor at The Music School of Delaware and Darlington Arts Center.

She is predeceased by her beloved parents, Ralph and Jeanne Moore. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Ernest and Linda Moore.

A memorial service to celebrate Constance’s life will be held on Wednesday, February 26th, at 12:00 noon at McCrery and Harra Funeral Home, located at 3924 Concord Pike, Wilmington, DE 19803. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park 2220 North DuPont Highway, New Castle, DE

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Constance’s memory to Neighbors to Nicaragua, Inc., located at 2605 Marhill Drive, Wilmington, DE 19810, or to The Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, 1528 Walnut Street, Suite 301, Philadelphia, PA 19102.

Constance’s dedication to music, her students, and her community will be remembered with gratitude and love.
