Karen passed away on February 21, 2025 at the age of 67. Born and raised in Wilmington, DE, she graduated from Conrad High School. Upon graduation, she began her career as a lab technician for DuPont, where she worked for 42 years.
Karen carried with her a lifelong passion for listening to live music, spending time at the beach and in nature, and enjoying a cold beer. She had a deep love for animals which was evident to all who knew her.
Karen is survived by her daughter, Jennifer; brothers, Steven and Kevin (Barbie); nieces, nephews, as well as many members of her extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Joyce.
Karen’s presence will be profoundly missed by her family, friends, and community. Her legacy of kindness and passion for the things she loved will continue to live on in the hearts of those she touched.
Family and friends are invited to join in a celebration of Karen’s life at 12:00 PM on March 7th, 2025 at McCrery & Harra Funeral Home (3710 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, DE 19808). Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Karen’s honor to Faithful Friends, Brandywine SPCA or a charity/shelter of your choice.
