Arden M. Knott, Jr. age 88, of Chadds Ford, PA, formerly of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025 at his home with loved ones by his side.
He was born and raised in Wilmington, DE and is the son of the late Elizabeth (Lord) and Arden M. Knott, Sr. Arden graduated from P.S. DuPont High School in 1954.
Right out of high school he co-oped at the former Wilmington Trust, starting in the mail room. 40 years later Arden retired as a Trust Officer in the Equipment Leasing Department. He was most known for his years at Wilmington Trust, but also his work at the former Brandywine Raceway and the University of Delaware football games. He was an exceptional grandfather spending countless hours at Nemours Children’s Hospital while his grandson, Chris, received medical care and outpatient therapy sessions.
He enjoyed traveling with his wife Eileen, especially to Disney World and Williamsburg, VA. Arden also enjoyed reading non-fiction history and watching the Phillies.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Eileen C. (Thompson); his children, Curt Knott and his wife Ali and Tammy Robbins; grandchildren, Kelsey Webb, Emily Webb, Melissa Mankatah (Charles), Alexi Cornelius (Anthony), Christopher Knott and Angel Robbins; great-grandchildren, Alex, Alyssa, Olivia and Journey. Arden is also preceded in death by his daughter, Amy Webb.
