Michael Sisk, 80 years, of Hockessin, Delaware, sadly left our home on March 5, 2025.

Michael was graduated from Coquille High School, Coquille, Oregon. Academically, he excelled, with membership in the National Honors Society and became Student Council President. His team competed in District All Star Performance in track and basketball. Then, he continued his education at Oregon State University in Chemical Engineering. He received honors of accolade in Phi Kappa Phi (national equivalent of Phi Beta Kappa), membership in Sigma Tau (National Engineering Honorary), and became a Certified Six Sigma Black Belt within DuPont Fluoro Products. Additionally, Michael actively participated in OSU’s Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. His singing talent surfaced at Oregon State University as “Inter-fraternity Sing” (1965) with a record album. Later, Michael continued his Chemical Engineering education at the University of Delaware.

As a retired DuPont/ Chemours process engineer over fifty years, Michael was recognized for his successful analytical and technical knowledge in Freon Technology. These included United States and international patents, Leadership in Start-Ups and Commercialization of Processes both domestic and international sites as well as a Certified Fluoro Product’s Chemical Engineer.

He enjoyed running many half and full marathons in Delaware and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, coaching his daughter’s soccer team and Olympic Development team, and refereeing high school, girls’ college and men’s teams.

Michael is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Tom and his family, and his daughter, Michele, as well as families on both the East and West Coasts.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025, at Saint Mary of the Assumption, 7200 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, Delaware (392-239-7200.) Viewing begins at 10:00 a.m. For sending flowers, please address to Saint Mary of the Assumption Church.
