Susan Hudson Martin passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 24, 2025.
She was born December 22, 1946, in Wilmington, Delaware, the daughter of Dorsey Furman Hudson and Helen Wilson Hudson. Susan graduated from Conrad High School, Wilmington, and Goldey-Beacom College, Wilmington. She married her high school sweetheart, John Martin, and were married for over 50 years. They settled in the same neighborhood they grew up and raised two children, Steven Martin and Amy Mollman. Susan has six grandchildren, Jacob, Zachary, Ethan, Megan, Christopher, and Hailey. In addition, Susan is survived by her brother, Steven Hudson, and many nieces and nephews. Time spent with family and friends made life special for Susan.
Susan was a medical billing specialist for Rosenthal Chiropractic, Wilmington, and Pulmonary Associates, Newark for 23 years. She was also an active member of her community and attended St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, where she was involved with many activities such as the Altar Guild, Family Promise, and Emmanual Dining Hall. Susan and John also volunteered together at the Seaman Center at the Port of Wilmington. In her free time, she enjoyed sewing, knitting, gardening, reading, and caring for her treasured cat, Peanut.
A service of remembrance will be held at 10:00 am, April 5, 2025 at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church, 2800 Duncan Road Wilmington, Delaware 19808. Those wishing to remember Susan in a special way or in lieu of flowers are encouraged to make a gift to Special Olympics Delaware or the Lupus Foundation of America.
